Well done to the 1st team

Well done to the 1st team, who dealt with United ruthlessly.

United batted first and were soon in real trouble with their top and middle order blown away at 24 / 6. Despite a hard fought 36* from Danie Van Schoor and an additional 20 runs from extras, the situation did not improve and United was bowled out for 80.

There were many excellent bowling performances, but Elton Ambambi‘s 4 for 20 from 10 was the pick of the bunch. Ben Shikongo and Ramon Wilmot each took two wickets and conceded less than 2.5 to the over.

There were no such stumbles from the CCD batsmen, with Stephen Baard and Ramon Wilmot scoring 30 and 37* respectively to take CCD home by 9 wickets.

The Cubs could unfortunately not repeat their match winning performance from the previous weekend. Despite bowling out the Green Mambas for 123, their batsmen could not support the bowling effort and were dismissed for 86.

Jan-Louis Nortje led the bowling effort with 3 for 27 from his 6 overs, but the top score for the Cubs was JP Conradie’s 23 with the Cubs falling short by 37 runs in the end.

Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose, but we always learn! Keeping working hard Tigers.
